Board Members

Jay Berman

Berman currently serves as Senior Advisor to NetEase Cloud Music.  He brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in the music and entertainment industry.
In addition, Berman previously served as Vice President for Warner Communications where he was responsible for representing the company’s record labels. He went on to become the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Recording Industry Association of America, RIAA. From there he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the International Federation of Phonographic Industries (IFPI). He was appointed Special Counsel for Trade to President Clinton and was instrumental in the passage of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which introduced major changes to the US Copyright Act. 

Howard L. Shecter

Shecter is a nationally recognized M&A lawyer in the New York and Philadelphia offices of Holland Knight, a large  international law firm.  He also regularly advises boards of directors on corporate governance and board oversight responsibilities.  In addition, he has often been a board member for both public and private companies, including serving for several years  as Chairman of the Board of Harris Interactive (NASDAQ), a leading digital market research firm which was acquired by Nielsen Group  in 2014 and is on the advisory board of several venture capital and private equity funds. 

Mike Hurst

Hurst is the co-founder and CEO of Exactuals, a payments software company facilitating paperless transmission of data and funds in the entertainment industry. Exactuals is a SaaS company modernizing the way the entertainment industry makes payments, including residuals, royalties, marketplace payments, and similarly complex transactions. Prior to founding Exactuals, Hurst led sales teams at Fortune 500 companies, including Oracle and Sprint Nextel, and gained experience building distributed organizations across the U.S. and India. Hurst is a graduate of the Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. 

Andy Fireman

 Andy is a serial entrepreneur and CEO of AspenStrategics, a family office focused on making opportunistic investments in highly compelling early stage ventures whose products or services offer a meaningful “defining difference” in the B2B and B2C spaces. The firm co-creates and nurtures startups for whom it can provide game changing capital and mentorship.
